Getting to Diever
By car:
- A car is recommended though not essential (rental cars also available at the airports mentioned) with easy access to the towns of Hoogeveen (20 minutes), Assen (25 minutes), Emmen (45 minutes) & the city of Groningen (40 minutes)
- Diever is easily accessible by car in approximately 2 hours from the following airports in the Netherlands: Amsterdam Schiphol, Rotterdam and Eindhoven
By Air:
- Most major international airlines serve Amsterdam, including the national carrier, KLM (& partners) from most cities
- Budget airlines to Amsterdam (from the UK and Ireland) include: easyjet (from Belfast, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, London Gatwick, Luton, Southend & Stansted & Manchester), flybe (from Aberdeen, Belfast City, Birmingham, Doncaster/Sheffield, Dublin, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Guernsey, Inverness, Isle of Man, Jersey, Knock, Leeds Bradford, London City & Southend, Manchester, Newcastle, Newquay, & Southampton) and Jet2 (from Leeds/Bradford)
- Eindhoven is served by Ryanair (from Edinburgh, London Stansted & Manchester)
- Due to our proximity to Germany, Duesseldorf Weeze (just over the German border by Nijmegen) is only 90 minutes away. Ryanair flies to Weeze from Edinburgh, London Luton & Stansted. Also, easyjet flies to Dortmund (from London Luton)
By Ferry:
- If you are travelling by ferry to the Netherlands, Diever is approximately a 2-hour drive from all 3 main port. These include Rotterdam Europort (P&O Ferries from Hull), the Hook of Holland (Stena Line from Harwich) & Amsterdam/Ijmuiden (DFDS Seaways from Newcastle)
By Public Transport:
- Public transport (bus) is just a few minutes walk away with links to the surrounding villages and towns. The nearest train station is at Beilen (20 minutes away) with direct services to Groningen (30 minutes) & Amsterdam Airport (2 hours).
